Composition of Diesel Generator Sets

Time : 2025-06-29

Core Components

  1. Diesel Engine: Serving as the power source, it generates mechanical energy through diesel combustion, accounting for 60%-70% of the total cost of the generator set. It includes subsystems such as the engine block, crankshaft connecting rod mechanism, valve train, and fuel supply system, which realize power transmission and combustion efficiency control.
  2. Generator: It converts the mechanical energy of the diesel engine into electrical energy, accounting for approximately 20% of the total cost. Its core components include the stator, rotor, brushes, and slip rings, and it outputs stable current based on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
  3. Control System: Responsible for the start-stop of the generator set, operation monitoring, and fault protection, it accounts for about 10% of the total cost. It includes equipment such as a control panel and sensors, supporting automated operations and real-time data feedback.

Auxiliary Systems

  • Heat Dissipation System: Reduces the temperature of the diesel engine through radiators and water pumps to prevent overheating.

  • Fuel System: Comprises a fuel tank, fuel transfer pump, and fuel injection pump to ensure precise fuel supply.

  • Exhaust System: Treats combustion exhaust gas to reduce noise and pollution.

  • Starting System: Relies on a storage battery or compressed air to achieve the initial start of the diesel engine.

  • Common Base: Supports and fixes the core components to reduce the impact of vibration.

  • 潍柴机组结构构成

Through the coordinated operation of the above components, the generator set can provide continuous power when the municipal power supply is interrupted, making it suitable for critical scenarios such as data centers and hospitals.
